The library of the Archives School Marburg, University for Archival Science, is the most extensive specialized library for archival science in the German-speaking region. German and international literature is procured and made available to all interested parties in the library’s reading room.
Library collections also cover the areas of administrative science and the historical auxiliary sciences, as well as history and law, where these are of relevance to teaching at the Archives School Marburg.
Library research is carried out using our online public access catalogue (page in German). As a rule the respective title will be made available immediately in the reading room. Only for those publications that are currently kept in the repository of the State Archives of Hessen in Marburg, is it necessary to place an order for a title (signature groups beginning with Roman figures) in our reading room or to use the State Archives’ reading room.
We also manage an international Archives Bibliography, featuring dependent publications such as journal articles or miscellaneous contributions to anthologies.
We round off our service with a list of further bibliographic aids (page in German) and a list of the OPACs (page in German) available in the Internet.
